Sidney to Bellevue, Nebraska

Back to index

Another day of just driving, mostly with a strong cross- or headwind. Since Cruella is pretty much a chromed brick aerodynamically, gas mileage took a hit.

Nebraska still has the nicest rest areas of any state I've driven through, and we had a picnic lunch at one near Kearney. They even build the picnic shelters to block the wind, which does help.

Got to my sister's house south of Omaha about 4:30 where Hoover got to meet my 3-year-old niece and nephew. Maddie took to him right away, but Austin was a bit wary until he went to bed Sunday night and petted Hoover good night.
